Comprehensive Laser provides a wide range of options for laser skin resurfacing in Baltimore. During your consultation, our cosmetic doctors will examine your skin type and discuss your beauty and body goals to recommend the ideal laser treatments to rejuvenate your skin.

What is laser skin resurfacing?

Laser skin resurfacing is a procedure that uses targeted light therapy to remove the fine uppermost layers of your skin, eliminating superficial blemishes. Laser skin resurfacing also activates your skin’s natural healing response, leading to the formation of new skin cells and collagen, leaving your skin taut, youthful, and fresh. A laser skin resurfacing treatment can hydrate your skin, reduce wrinkles and fine lines, tighten lax skin tissues, resolve stretch marks, remove pigmented spots and acne scars and even whisk away some unsightly spider veins.

What are my options with laser skin resurfacing?

Comprehensive laser offers a very comprehensive line of laser treatments to suit every skin type, skin color and skin condition. Our specialists will also help you choose exactly the procedure that is best for you.

Vivace RF Microneedling

The Vivace System is a treatment in which 36 microneedles pierce the skin’s uppermost layer and deliver radiofrequency energy deep into the subdermal deep tissues. This spurs your body into generating new skin cells, while also facilitating collagen and elastin production, giving your skin a youthful and taut appearance.

  • Recovery: 6 hours
  • Cost: Roughly $800, depending on the conditions to be treated and size of treatment area

PicoWay Laser

PicoWay Laser is a procedure in which pulsed laser is delivered to your skin’s surface at the speed of one-trillionth of a second. The laser energy penetrates the skin’s epidermis, converts into sound waves, and creates tiny pockets within the skin’s surface to facilitate collagen and elastin production. The gradual production of collagen fibers heal acne scars and make your skin look younger.

  • Recovery: No downtime
  • Cost: $150 to a few thousands dollars, depending on conditions and treatment area size

PhotoFacial

PhotoFacial is a procedure in which an Aerolase handpiece delivers 650-microsecond laser energy into the skin’s surface. The laser energy destroys the melanin-heavy skin cells to remove pigmented lesions, spider veins, inflammation, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, age spots, birthmarks, and other skin irregularities. The procedure lightens your skin, giving you a healthy glow.

  • Recovery: No downtime; the age spots and pigmented spots will flake off within 2 weeks
  • Cost: $150 to $350 per session

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive laser treatment used to remove spider veins and superficial varicose veins from your skin’s surface. During the procedure, an FDA approved solution called Asclera® is injected into the spider veins to make them gradually fade away.

  • Recovery: No downtime — best results achieved in 3 to 6 weeks
  • Cost: $200 to $600 per session

HydraFacial MD

HydraFacial MD is an incredibly powerful procedure that combines the benefits of hydradermabrasion, chemical peels, pore extractions, and skincare serums. This procedure instantly exfoliates your skin, removes dead skin cells, extracts impurities, hydrates the skin, and injects antioxidant serums to rejuvenate the skin.

  • Recovery: No downtime
  • Cost: $200 to $300 per session

Carbon Facial

Carbon facial is a procedure in which liquid carbon is applied to the skin’s surface. Following the carbon application, a laser beam is passed over the skin’s surface to remove all the carbon particles with the surrounding dead skin cells, toxins, and debris.

  • Recovery: No downtime
  • Cost: $250 to $450 per session

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a procedure in which a scalpel is used to gently scrape off the uppermost layer of the skin. Doing so removes peach fuzz, debris, dead skin cells, and other superficial irregularities. It’s an extremely effective means of exfoliating the skin.

  • Recovery: No downtime
  • Cost: $150 per session

What’s the difference between ablative and non-ablative laser skin resurfacing?

Ablative laser skin resurfacing is a procedure that removes the uppermost layer of the skin. Compared to that, non-ablative laser skin resurfacing heats the underlying skin tissues without damaging its surface. As such, ablative laser skin resurfacing is more invasive than non-ablative laser skin resurfacing.

Ablative skin resurfacing, however, facilitates new skin cell formation, which helps remove acne scars, skin discoloration, and mild to moderate wrinkles. Non-ablative skin resurfacing is more suitable for improving their skin’s general texture and appearance without deep changes.

Procedure FAQ's

How long do the results last?

The results of laser skin resurfacing are “permanent,” however they don’t stop the normal process of aging.

SWhen can I go out under the sun?

Gradually, carefully, 2 weeks after your treatment unless our specialists tell you otherwise. Use copious amounts of a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30.

Should I opt for an ablative or non-ablation procedure?

That depends entirely on your cosmetic goals and skin condition. Generally speaking, ablative skin resurfacing is used to remove acne marks and moderate wrinkles from the skin’s surface, while non-ablative procedures are used to treat mild issues of pigmentation and uneven skin texture. Our specialists will help you determine the procedure that suits you best.

What We're Doing About COVID-19

At Comprehensive Laser, your health, safety and happiness are our top priorities. We have been monitoring the evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation very carefully. We will be partially reopening the office beginning Monday, May 11th. We will continue to follow updates from local, state and federal authorities and if we receive different guidance we will respond appropriately and notify you immediately.

We have taken a series of precautionary steps to ensure your safety:

  1. We are performing enhanced cleaning and sanitizing of all patient care areas on a regular basis and in between all patient visits.
  2. We will avoid having patients congregate in our reception area. Upon check-in, you will be shown to either a private exam room or consultation room depending upon the nature of your appointment.
  3. All members of our staff are screened daily for COVID symptoms and are asked to stay home if they exhibit any signs or symptoms of the disease.
  4. We screen all patients entering our facility with COVID symptom screening questionnaires.
  5. ALL of our providers wear surgical face masks, plastic face shields and the necessary personal protective equipment to ensure patient and provider safety.
  6. We use hospital-grade disinfectants (Cavi-Wipes, Cavicide) to clean patient rooms and equipment. CaviCide is a convenient, ready-to-use, intermediate-level surface disinfectant that is effective against TB, HBV, HCV, viruses (hydrophilic and lipophilic), bacteria (including MRSA and VRE) and fungi. It can be used in the NICU, operating rooms, isolation rooms, patient care areas and laboratories. When used as directed, it will also effectively clean and decontaminate critical and semi-critical instrumentation.
  7. All of our equipment and protective eyewear are cleaned after every use.
  8. Plexiglass shields will be in place at the check-in and check out areas to prevent aerosol transmission.
  9. We offer "No touch" payment methods such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and online invoicing.

For the time being, we ask that you come to your appointments alone to limit the traffic through the office. We also ask that you leave children in the care of a family member or a sitter. If you have had a recent fever, sore throat, cold- or flu-like symptoms or contact with someone suspected of having COVID-19 please call immediately to reschedule your appointment.

As always we appreciate your support of and trust in our practice and we look forward to seeing you soon!
