HOW DOES LASER EYEBROW TATTOO REMOVAL WORK?

One of the most common methods of eyebrow tattoo removal is laser removal. This process involves using a laser to break up the pigment in the tattoo, naturally allowing your body to absorb and eliminate the ink over time. While laser removal can be effective, it's important to note that it can also be uncomfortable and may require multiple sessions to achieve the desired results. Additionally, not all tattoo inks respond well to laser removal, so it's essential to consult a professional before the procedure.

The success of eyebrow tattoo removal depends on several factors, including:

  • The age of the tattoo: Older tattoos are generally easier to remove since your body has had some time to break down the ink naturally and this assists with the tattoo removal process.
  • The color of ink used: Darker colors, such as black and dark brown, are typically easier to remove than lighter colors, such as pink or yellow. Additionally, some colors, such as white or flesh tones, may not respond to laser treatment.
  • Your skin type: People with lighter skin tones generally have an easier time removing tattoos than people with darker skin tones.
  • Depth of ink: If the ink is applied too deeply, it may be more challenging to break down and remove. Additionally, suppose the tattoo was applied using a technique that involves puncturing the skin multiple times, such as microblading. In that case, it may be harder to remove than a tattoo applied using a traditional tattoo machine.

EYEBROW TATTOO REMOVAL WITH PICOWAY

Eyebrow tattoo removal is fast, safe, and easy with the FDA-cleared PicoWay laser system. Using a photoacoustic effect—where pulsed picosecond laser energy (one-trillionth of a second) is transformed into sound rather than heat within the skin—the PicoWay painlessly shatters the tattoo ink into fragments that are then easily flushed out of the body. The system reaches beneath the skin's surface to target those layers of skin where the tattoo ink is embedded and shatters it. PicoWay additionally stimulates the growth of new collagen and elastin, which further assist in diminishing the appearance of the tattoo.

As with all laser tattoo removal options, the PicoWay may require multiple quick treatments (1 to 3 minutes each) to reach optimal results. It is an excellent patient choice because it requires little to no downtime after treatments and does not risk causing potential damage to the skin's surface layers through overheating.

AFTERCARE

After the procedure, your eyebrows will likely feel sore and swollen. You may also experience some redness.

Here are some aftercare tips:

  • Apply an ice pack to your eyebrows for 10-15 minutes every hour for the first few hours after the procedure to reduce swelling.
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds.
  • We recommend a Laser Enzyme Gel to help with the recovery process.
